I will miss these students!  Enjoy your summer!

Fifth Grade Fabulous Fall Fun!

We sure had fun decorating for fall!  I've had a lot of positive comments on the 5th grade's decorations near the mini garden!  Thanks go out  to our very supportive and creative parents!

Class Cash

Fifth grade implemented a class cash system.  Students earn money for coming to school and completing assignments.  They can also lose money as a consequence.  Today, we set up a store, and the students could choose to spend their money on items or coupons.  Some decided to save their money.  It was fun to watch the kids try and decide what they were going to do with their money!

School has started!

The fifth graders have worked hard the last two weeks to figure out 5th grade's schedule and rules. We are off to a great start!  We are beginning to get into a routine.  Students had their first spelling test last Friday.  Parents, you might want to get onto PowerSchool and check your child's test score.  Many need to study their words each evening.  If you don't know how to access PowerSchool, stop in or call the office.  It is a very easy method of keeping an eye on your child's grades.  Even if you don't use it much in elementary school, you will probably use it each day when he/she gets to junior high and high school.  *You won't see a reading or math grade on PowerSchool yet due to Rhonda being on medical leave.  (She's the one who puts the students into the correct classes.) Please email, text, or call me if you ever have a question or concern.  email: choover@389ks.org   cell: 583-4220, school: 583-5537

Welcome to 5th Grade!

I am so excited to meet my new students!  I hope you can make it to the Marshall Open House Monday, August 18 from 6-7 P.M. Bring your supplies if that will make your first day easier.  As you are walking down the hall, choose an orange sticky note from a locker, and that locker will be yours for the year!  See you soon!  Mrs. Hoover
